Its vacuuming capabilities are impressive and efficient, too. It's one of the few robovacs I've tested that does very well at picking up debris on unfinished floors, and it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.

The Freo X Ultra is not free of faults, especially when it comes navigation. Its laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs, meaning it sometimes gets stuck or confused in certain rooms or corners of the house. It can't climb stairs as well as some competitors, for instance, and it doesn't have an dock that allows you to set up a dedicated cleaning zone for plush carpets.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent option for those looking for an automated vacuum that can do everything.

However, if you're looking to save some money or don't want to think about the limitations of this robot, there are plenty of other options available which include a variety of eufy models priced substantially less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and provides an identical experience on the app with additional features such as stair climbing, a full-function dock, and better overall performance when vacuuming floors and low and high-pile carpets.

4. Eufy RoboVac G30

Eufy, an Anker company is a long-standing leader of making robot vacuums that strike the right balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different it offers a high-quality cleaning of hard floors and mopping, carpets and other surfaces at an affordable price point. It's easy to set up, just connect one of the side brush and turn it on, then plug in your charging dock. The app guides you through several steps to connect to your Wi-Fi and then the G30 is ready to go. You'll need to leave the dock near an outlet for power and plenty of room to allow it to move around however.

The G30 is tiny, 2.85 inches tall to be exact and can be tucked away under couches and other low-clearance furniture. Its design isn't as ostentatious when compared to rival models. It has a sleek black finish with three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs a spot in a spiral pattern for two minutes), Recharge and Spot Cleaner. You can also connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do unscheduled cleaning.

The main feature that sets the G30 apart from most competitors is the method it cleans. It uses a built-in map to create an image of the immovable objects it encounters and then keeps track of what it has already cleaned and the areas it's not able to access. It then returns to the base to recharge, and then begins cleaning where it left off.

The elegant G30 has a few flaws. The iRobot Roomba is more durable and has lower monthly costs. It is faster to charge, has a similar battery life, and performs better on unfinished floors or low-pile carpet. It comes with a larger dust bin, which doesn't require as much emptying. It also has border strips that block it from certain areas. The G30, however is more affordable and is much simpler to maintain. Its smaller container means it doesn't have to be emptied as often, and it has less trouble with bulky materials such as cereal.
