A pushchair that is all-terrain with great maneuverability will be perfect whether you're seeking a stroller for woodland walks or taking a stroll along the high street. These models typically come with large wheels and suspension that gives an easy ride on bumpy terrain.
Most are suitable from birth and include a lie-flat seat or a newborn carrycot. They also have foam-filled tyres that are never flat to help with maintenance.
Suspension
A truly all-terrain pushchair will have good suspension which is designed to be extremely smooth on uneven ground which allows your child to feel comfortable and at ease. The wheels are typically large and puncture-proof to protect against damage from sharp rocks or sharp sticks.
The larger tyres will also help you navigate more difficult terrains with ease, with some all-terrain pushchairs even offering the option of different tyres you can switch between to suit different conditions. Certain all-terrain strollers feature an swivel wheel that can be locked to provide stability, or left unlocked to allow for greater maneuverability.
A few all-terrain strollers include an adjustable brake handbrake that locks and is easier to reach with your free hand. This is more convenient than a traditional pedal on the handlebars. If you don't wish to go as far as an all-terrain pushchair, there are plenty of strollers available that have very good - but not the ultimate off road capability with great suspension and large wheels. These are typically less expensive than the more expensive all-terrain pushchairs however they are perfect for trips to the park with the dog or short walks around the countryside.
A lot of strollers are suitable for newborns with either a carrycot or a car seat that is designed for infants. However, be aware that when pushing over bumps and dips, the seats aren't completely flat. As per EU regulations they only have to meet minimum standards for a reclined position of around 150deg. Graco has solved this issue with its new 'comfitech seat suspension' which allows the seat to recline at a flatter angle to provide a little more comfort. It is available on the Lila XP all-terrain pushchair which can be used with a compatible Graco infant car seat to create a 3 wheeler pushchair in 1 travel system.

There is a variety of all-terrain pushchairs with three wheels available, which offer a superb off-road capabilities. Wheels
All-terrain pushchairs are essential if you live in the countryside or take your child for regular walks over rough terrain. These models have larger wheels on the back than normal pushchairs, allowing them to deal with bumpy terrain better and provide the most comfortable ride for your child. Many also come with a sturdy suspension and puncture-proof versions which make them suitable for use on grass, woodland or trails as well as gravel tracks and town cobbles.
Some all-terrain strollers also feature a lockable wheel on the front, which gives extra stability when walking on rough terrain or on high kerbs. Others have swivel front wheels that let you maneuver the buggy more easily when changing direction or turning corners.
Most all-terrain pushchairs feature air-filled tyres that provide excellent shock absorption and are ideal for rough terrain but they're more prone to punctures than the EVA tyres that are used on city strollers, which is why you should invest in a repair kit, spare inner tube and pump to go with your pushchair. Certain models come with foam tyres that are less prone to puncture but could be more difficult to push.
The new Bugaboo Fox 5 pushchair is a great model of a stroller that has both foam and air filled tyres. The iCandy Peach All-Terrain is another option. It has big tires, a single steering wheel at the front and large tyres. It's not as pliable as some of the other all-terrain pushchairs on this list, but it does perform well on the terrain that is hilly and has a spacious one-handed fold, which is great if you're going to be using the 3 wheeler pushchair for long walks or excursions to the countryside. It's also suitable from birth and has a huge sun canopy that extends as well as a number of fantastic features for parents like a simple brake pedal with an adjustable handlebar as well as a generously big basket.
Storage

A hood that can be removed and brushed down with cool soapy water is another handy feature that will help keep mildew and mould from building up.
If you're planning on using your all-terrain pushchair off-road, it's worth opting for air-filled tyres rather than ones with rubber grips. These will give a smoother ride on rough terrain and will be more maneuverable in tight spaces. If you intend to use your all terrain pushchair for jogging, make sure that the front wheel is swivelable or has a quick-release facility to lock it into position for better stability.
It's important to check the fabric of the pushchair is machine washed to keep them in perfect condition. If not, spot cleaning with warm water and a little of soap gentle enough should be sufficient. Drying the fabric thoroughly outside will also help to prevent the growth of mould and mildew.
The majority of our three wheel all terrain pushchairs can be used from the time of birth. It is recommended to look for models that have a fully flat seat and an adjustable backrest. This allows you to use the pushchair from birth until your child reaches three years old. Many are compatible with car seat adapters when you're traveling with a family of three. If you'd like to leave the car at home, there are some all-terrain pushchairs with fixed front wheels that are ideal for casual strolls or light jogging like the Delta Special Needs all-terrain jogger from Delichon that is available in a variety of frame and canvas sizes to fit adults and children.
