All-terrain pushchair with light weight and excellent maneuverability. Its compact one-hand fold makes it's easy to transport and also freestanding when folded. The cushioned seat reclines into a nearly flat position, and there is a large storage bin and canopy. Baby-friendly? Yes and with a carrycot.
A well-constructed suspension and air-filled tires can help you navigate through rough terrain. You can also use it for jogging. However, you should wait until your baby is at minimum 6 or 9 months old.
Ickle Bubba XL Air
This pushchair from Ickle Bubba is an excellent choice for parents who want an easy-to-use buggy that has enhanced features. It comes as a travel system, which includes a lie-flat carrycot suitable for infants, a multi-position forward and rear facing pushchair as well as a choice of a car seat, meaning you can have everything you need in one package.
The XL Air is a very impressive buggy. It's easy to comprehend why it's received praise from customers. It's incredibly light - the wheels and chassis weigh just 6.5kg - and it's also easy to put together. In fact I was able get the whole thing up and running in less than five minutes, which is amazing given that it included a strapping of the fabric for the carrycot!
It has a comfortable wide seat that was comfortable for Annie (who is 12 months old) and the recline lever is easy to operate. There's a good amount of room in the basket too, and I love the fact that it has a zip-up pocket in the handle bar so you can keep your keys and phone safe!
The only downside is that the handlebar is low, which can be an issue for parents who are taller. It's covered with a soft, comfortable leather-like material, which is easy to wipe down.
Hauck Pushchair Runner
The Runner is made for sporty parents who want to go outside and explore. Its large pneumatic wheels are designed to be used on forest and field paths, and the front lightest 3 wheel stroller can be swivelled and locked to give you more flexibility. It also comes with a cushioned 5-point safety harness and a front bar to keep your little one safe throughout your journey and the parking brake reliably prevents the stroller from moving when you are taking a break. The seat can be repositioned to a laying position and the canopy can be opened to allow for maximum air circulation during hot days. The handle can be height-adjusted by more than 30cm to accommodate dad or mum's heights.
The Runner will accompany you on any adventure whether it's a leisurely walk, a longer hike, or a long-distance walk. It comes with a lay-flat seat that has suspension air wheels to ensure an easy ride. The front 3 wheel buggies can be locked to provide greater stability when walking on narrow streets or busy sidewalks. The stroller is also able to fold up to fit into car boot spaces or storage spaces.
The Runner 2 is a bit more difficult to navigate for some parents than its predecessor. Also, the locking system (requiring two buttons on either side of the handlebar) is less user-friendly. The handlebars are higher than some competitors, which means they may not be suitable for shorter parents. However, this stroller is sturdy and adaptable and is a good option for families with active children.
Red Kite Push Me Pace
The Pace is another great offering from Red Kite, an affordable British brand that prides itself on making easy-to-use and simple parenting essentials. It's the latest - and priciest - product in their bargain-priced lightweight stroller range and, like the Ickle Bubba Aurora and Yoyo, is car seat adaptable which means you can use it from the beginning (the carrycot folds away).
The new Pace has some fantastic design elements, including a rose-gold tint on the chassis, hood, and stroller trims that truly distinguish it from. The stroller and car seat fabrics are fashionable in tan, grey, and cream. You can also choose to add handles made of leather and a bumper bar to complement.
It's suitable from birth to a max weight of 22kg. The stroller seat can easily be converted from the carrycot to a 2-in-1 reversible mode, parent-facing or world-facing. The stroller seat has multiple lie-back positions, softly padded legs rests and an extendable sun canopy that has hidden zip sections and a transparent flap, and retractable visor.
When folded when folded, the Pace measures 56 inches x 43cm and 32 inches, which allows it to be used as hand luggage on Easyjet and Ryanair. It's also simple to fold, thanks to two buttons on either side of the handlebar that you can click into and pop up.
Bugaboo Fox 5
The idea behind it is to create the ultimate all-terrain pushchair Bugaboo's newest Fox 5 promises to do it all. Its unique chassis, which has a shorter 3 wheel push chair-distance makes it more agile than its predecessor. I put it to the test with my two kids - one a toddler and another eight-week old - across the rocky roads along woodland paths, grassy trails and even cobblestones.
The puncture-proof wheels are big with a diameter of 22cm and 30cm which means they can handle all kinds of terrain. They also have a handy flap that opens or closes to let more air to enter should you need it and is a nice addition. It is a little bigger than some pushchairs, but it isn't heavy or bulky when pushing over bumpy surfaces.
The fabric of the seat can be washed by machine, and the faux leather grips and frame are easy to clean. It is also quieter than other pushchairs and I was comfortable in the urban streets. Another benefit is that it has integrated accessory points. This means you can put in footmuffs, parasols, changing bags, and even a snack tray. You can also use the hood to block out rain and wind, but it's not waterproof. The single pram can be outfitted with the Comfort Wheeled Board (not included), which gives your child more leg room. The bassinet took about 20 minutes to set up, and it took the same amount of time to transform it into an actual seat.
UPPAbaby Ridge
Whether you enjoy a morning jog in the cool air or a stroll under the stars, the UPPAbaby Ridge makes every moment a memorable one. This all-terrain stroller was designed to keep you and your child engaged.
The huge 12" and 16" foam-filled tires provide an easy ride, regardless of the terrain. The suspension is patented, allowing you to glide across paths in the woods with less impact on your child's legs and rear. And the durable hand brake that is a performance disc lets you to stop quickly, even when jogging downhill.
From bustling market stalls to street musicians singing, the Ridge is able to navigate your city's most popular scenes with ease. The large basket can accommodate all your essentials as well as market purchases, while the massive canopy provides protection from wind and sun. The canopy on the front can be unzipped to reveal two mesh peekaboos, which allow you to monitor your baby.
The Ridge's reversible seats allows you to choose if your child faces you, or the world in front. The simple foot brake system makes it intuitive for parents who are new. A great feature is the reversible handlebar which lets you adjust it to your height and preference. The Ridge's fold, in contrast to many strollers for jogging, is sturdy and self-standing when folded.
iCandy Core
The new pushchair from iCandy is truly innovative, with lots of features that are really going to wow parents. It comes with a multi-mode wheelbase as well as an LED Visibility Hub light that's a first in the industry. It also comes with an integrated Ride-on Board, which helps save on future costs and makes it easy for an exhausted toddler to accompany you on family outings.
The Core is available as a travel system or a single seat. It works with most popular car seats, such as those from Cybex Maxi Cosi Joie. It has the largest seat unit in the iCandy line, meaning you can use it for your baby's first years and beyond. As with all iCandy pushchairs it is beautifully constructed and comes with premium knitted jersey fabric. The handlebar that parents can adjust and the child's bumper bar that can be detached are made from soft leatherette. The folding calf support folds away and is very comfortable for children.
I was awed by how easy it is to fold and collapse it only takes one hand, even with the seat unit attached. It's also easily tucked away in your hallway and boot which makes it ideal for travel. The iCandy Core comes with lots of extra accessories, including a colour matching changing rucksack and a liner/footmuff.
