Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He tests and evaluates cleaning appliances. His focus is on robot vacuums, and mopping combinations. These multitaskers can be an excellent choice for those who want to get rid of mopping off their list of things to do. They are equipped with impressive mapping capabilities and obstacles-avoiding capabilities, and they can even wash and refill their own mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking for a robotic vacuum that can also mop, this is the model to look for. It's smaller than the other models on this list which makes it easier to maneuver into tight corners and underneath furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar that, combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it one of my top navigation and object avoidance features I've seen in robot vacuums. It's powered by a 4600mAh battery which can last up to 170 minutes when mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It can even return to the dock to top up its battery part way through cleaning.
It's fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted rooms extremely quickly and the hardwood floors in the kitchen, hallways, and living room in one go. The suction motor's 8,000pa will quickly pick up sand, dirt, and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs and the double side brushes help to clean debris from corners.
The mopping performance, though still impressive, isn't as effective. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high velocity and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly cleaning up dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm sticks out a bit more than other robots. This is useful when getting into tight corners or along baseboards. The front arms can also be used to pick up larger debris like books and broken toys.
Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the most quiet Robot vacuums that Mop vacuums and mops I've ever used. It is quieter and doesn't create as much noise when mopping or vacuuming. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a exclusive cleaning solution for mopping, and is sold separately from the vacuum. It is easy to set up and works well. However should you purchase this robot vacuum cleaners bestvacuum mop cleaner robot solely for mopping, you will need to pay attention to this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a wide range of features.
The device comes with an efficient cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This enables it to map out the house and find furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean effectively and effectively. This will result in an effective, consistent cleaning which is also relatively fast.
In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching an array of surface areas. This includes corners, baseboards and other hard to reach places. They also have a flexible side brush that can extend to the floor in close proximity to walls and other fixtures. In addition the mop pads can be dried and washed to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce the odors.
App-based customization is another notable feature. The Q Revo lets you adjust the amount of suction and choose between a back-andforth or more random pattern. You can also select the number of passes which will determine how quickly it can move around your home. You can even choose to turn off the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and rugs.
The device comes with a expensive price tag, but it comes with a large selection of smart features. It's important to note that it incurs recurring costs in the form of mopping supplies and maintenance. For example, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter is to be cleaned every 150 hours, and the mop pads should be replaced every one to three months.
This robot vacuum mop has a high Amazon rating and comes with an array of physical automation features. These include an energy button that doubles as a general 'Clean button as well as a Home' button that will send it back to its base station once it has completed its cleaning task. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the dustbin, refills its water tank, and cleans and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a professional with a lot of work or someone who just wants to have a clean home without spending much time doing chores The Shark Matrix Plus is a solid option. Its powerful performance, smart navigation, and long battery life make it easy to maintain a clean home with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it can handle both vacuuming and mopping. It has two modules: a dry bin and water reservoir and a separate mopping module with microfiber pads that snap into and out of position. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping, but it does mean you don't have to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.
Our testers found that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature was its accurate map of your floorplan that it uses to create a route when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option to set "No-Go zones" and virtual barriers, which help to protect certain areas of your home from being scrubbed with a mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a amazing job of collecting hair of pets. It was able to capture the majority of hair our cats shed, and even was able to get into the nooks and crannys of our stairs, where other robots struggled. It was quiet and had some lovely jingles to indicated when it was beginning or completing its task.
Its biggest drawbacks were its lack of sophistication and the requirement to switch out the modules when switching between vacuuming and mopping. The app doesn't have the capacity to hold multiple maps, which could be a pain when you live in a house with a mix of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a ideal choice for people who want a device that can vacuum and mop.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive in our review. However, it does have certain unique features that make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni is notable for its huge dock that doubles as an charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses the 2.5-liter dust bin as well as a 2.5 liter dust bin.
The base has a couple of buttons for control that allow you to manually begin a cleaning task and then recall the robot or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two of the buttons to turn off the child lock, which is a nice feature for parents who are worried about kids tinkering with the vacuum.
Similar to other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni uses its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system will map your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more accurate in recognizing objects.
Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni could sometimes get so entangled with an obstacle--such as an electrical cord dangling across a rug that it becomes stuck and stops working until you free it. While it was not common, it was a frustrating experience when it happened, especially since the X1 Omni doesn't have a "stuck" status alert on its application.
The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You will need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad aside from the fact that the mopping pads aren't washed and dried between uses which could lead to mildew or mold.
On the bright side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a significant departure from the utilitarian, all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing appearance in a market that is dominated by bulky boxy models.
