It will even return to its dock to recharge its battery mid-clean.

It's very efficient and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It can best automatic vacuum and mop carpeted rooms fast and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen, and hallways with just one pass. Its suction motor of 8,000pa makes short work of picking up dirt, crumbs and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs and the dual side brushes help to clean debris from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, isn't as impressive. The mop rotates at a high rate and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly cleaning up dirt and staining. I've also noticed that the front arms protrude out slightly more than other robots, which can be helpful for getting into tight corners and along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to collect larger objects such as books and toys that have been damaged.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've used. It is quieter and doesn't create more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must utilize a specific mopping solution and is sold separately. It is simple to install, and it works well. However, if you are buying this vacuum solely for mopping purposes, you will need to be aware of this.

The Matrix Plus was able to navigate through rugs, furniture and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' as well as virtual barriers to prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mop.

The Matrix Plus also did a amazing job of collecting hair from pets. It was able to collect many of the hair that sheds from our cats. It even got into some of the nooks and crannies of our stairs where other robots have struggled. The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive in our review. However, it has some unique features which make it worth considering. The X1 Omni is most notable for its massive dock that doubles as a charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses the 2.5-liter dust bin as well as an 2.5 liter dust bin.

The base comes with a couple of buttons for control that allow you to manually begin a cleaning task and then recall the robot or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to toggle a child lock which is a great option for parents concerned about children playing with the autonomous vacuum.

The X1 Omni, like other robotic vacuums, uses its camera to spot obstacles and furniture that are in its path. It will steer clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more precise at recognizing objects.

This can cause the X1 to become stuck when it gets entangled in an obstacle like the power cable that is draped over a rug. It won't work until you remove it manually. While it was not common but it was a very frustrating experience when it happened, especially since the X1 Omni does not have an "stuck" status alert on its app.

The X1 Omni is unable to automatically switch from mopping mode to vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You'll have to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't too bad aside from the fact that the mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between uses which could lead to mildew or mold.

On the bright side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad. It's a big departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. And it's an impressive sight in the market that is dominated by boxes.
