It easily drove close to walls without hitting them, and was able to cross raised room thresholds with no issue, though it occasionally had trouble navigating down stairs in a single move. The S1 also did an excellent job of cleaning hard floors by dragging its mop effortlessly on its flat side against the floor and then lifting itself when it was near carpet or rug.
Before each mopping session, the docking station on the S1 automatically empties its dustbin and refills its water tank onboard with filtered, clean water ozonated. The dock also provides a deep-cleaning solution for the water. The S1's water tank holds enough water for about twelve cleaning sessions before it has to be emptied, though this will vary depending on how much you use the mop.
Like all 2-in-1 robots, the S1 requires periodic maintenance to keep it working well. To do this, you'll need to rinse out the water tank that is dirty regularly to keep it from becoming clogged.
