Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The process of upgrading an item Upgrader mod, often referred to as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment boosts the stats linearly.

Players can recycle six items at a time to gain a gauge for the upgraded component of each item. The cost of recycling a piece of equipment increases according to their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

An upgrade for an item in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can increase the power of your weapon and armor. This can be accomplished in a variety of ways, including by using upgrade components or by increasing the rarity of an item or its mark level. Many items can also be reforged to boost their stats.

Upgradeable items can be found all over the game, both around the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be crafted by players. The main way to upgrade gear is through the use of upgrade components which are the items that can be slotted into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with upgrade slots, and most require a certain upgrade level. Some upgrade components give specific bonuses, while others offer an overall bonus.

There are several types of upgrade components in the game, including universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, such as gemstones and enchantments, can be used in any equipment type and offer fewer bonuses than those that are type specific. Glyphs can only be found in gathering tools. They provide a variety bonuses, from increasing the speed of an item's gathering to providing extra crafting material.

To upgrade an item, select it in your inventory and open the Upgrade window. The preview will be displayed on the right side of the screen. It will display the expected stats after the upgrade. If you don't possess enough of either, the Upgrade button will be marked as Blocked.

The upper-right corner shows the number of upgrade components required to create a particular item. The cost of an upgrade increases depending on the level of upgrade and rarity, but can be reduced through various methods, such as buying upgrades from a retailer or trading them to other players.

The majority of weapons can be upgraded with a prefix, such as a rune, or an insignia. Some can be improved with the suffix. These upgrades can be used to add an adjective to the item level upgrade's name for example "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".

Glyphs

Glyphs are a way to convey information via visuals. They animate to capture the attention of the viewers and trigger interest in the brain. The animation of glyphs mimics the body language and makes them more effective in transmitting an inter-linguistic message. Glyphs also improve the retention of the message by triggering an experience of familiarity in the brain.

Each glyph has a range of values that it could improve a stat by in the form of an item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an artifact. This is not the actual amount by which the glyph will increase a stat, but the maximum amount by which it is able to do so. The value of the glyph will depend on the tier and quality of the item that you are admiring.

Most upgrade components inserted into items cannot be replaced or salvaged without dismantling the gear in question, unless it is legendary equipment and upgrades. If you do have a rune or glyph that has not yet been applied to your gear, you can move it to a different piece of gear by using the upgrade Glyphs context menu within the Glyphs panel. This will create the new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

If you wish to remove a glyph from a piece of then you'll need to salvage it using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. This will destroy the item within which it is placed but you will be able to salvage the upgraded item using the glyph and its fragments, so this should not be considered as a loss.

The addition of a glyph to an item could cause it to become unstable and the shards of that glyph will disappear from your inventory when you dismantle the item. You can also put a glyph on your equipment to increase its value. Deferred Damage, for example can be used to store damage and be distributed slowly to the wearer instead of all at one time. This is helpful for players who take a lot damage from enemies, but don't want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens let players change the affixes of their weapons and equipment, and can be found through a variety of methods such as in mistery boxes, as a rare drop from skulled creatures, or from killing bosses. Each reroll gives the player an unspecified affix, which is typically better than what they had prior to. Reroll tokens can also be used to upgrade weapon stats to cause more damage or bonuses.

Items that have been rerolled may not appear in the item upgrade menu, however they are still eligible to receive upgrades. Rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button, which changes the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to be chosen to recycle. Recycling an item adds a small amount of points to its gauge of level. This amount is determined by the item's rarity and its level. Therefore, items that are higher level are more valuable for recycling than items with lower levels.

In addition to reroll tokens, players can use Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to roll the Weapon Traits of an upgraded unit. Rerolls are based on a % chance of a weapon's traits. If it scores higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it rolls lower, the weapon remains unchanged. Weapons can be repeated up to three times.

Rerolling is a fantastic way to upgrade items an item. However, players must be aware that the total ilvl is reduced by the number the rerolls required to bring it to the final level. This reduction effect is most effective for Diadems and ring items that don't have alternatives to raise their ilvls.

The reroll system has been criticized by players for being too expensive, and it would be more equitable to let players pay for it in the form of money or food items that would allow them to change their build without a lot of time and effort. The developers have no plans to introduce paid rerolls at this stage in the game's development. Instead, they plan to include a race change potion in the future.

Leveling

There are many ways to increase the level of an upgrade to an item upgrader kit. The first is to increase the upgrade amount that increases the upgrade value of the stat. The second is to increase the effect of upgrading which increases the damage or heal of a given stat. The base item can be upgraded to a more advanced upgrade type. The new item will retain its iLevel, but have the upgraded effects of the upgraded item.
