The upgrade of the item was first introduced in Generation II. This item allows Porygon to transform into Porygon2 while being traded or held.
It can be inserted into weapon gear, armor and trinkets to add an additional bonus effect or increase its value. The majority of upgrade items require the item be in a certain state before it can be inserted.
Recycle points
Recycle points can be used to upgrade certain items. They can be obtained from recycling cans and plastic, and also from completing missions. You can also earn them through the recycling incentive program, which rewards players who take their garbage to recycling bins. These points can be exchanged in the iRecycle shop for cash or household items.
To recycle an item, click on it with the right-click and press. You'll receive a small amount in books and XP. This can be used to recycle any item, which includes heroes, weapons, bows or shields, skills and food. Beginning weapons are the only exception. This is not the same as retiring an item which deletes it, but provides lots of resources.

Substats
The sub-stats of an artifact are random but can be improved by several ways. The sub-stats do not increase with each upgrade, just like the main stats. They can be randomly increased on any of the slots. The number of sub-stats that an artifact is determined by its rank. The rank 2 artifact has no sub-stats, whereas Rank 5 has five. Each sub-stat has a certain limit it can be produced within, based on its rarity.
If you'd like to have a better chance of obtaining a particular sub-status, you can use REFINE ARTIFACTS to increase it by four levels. This will cost you MORA. Find duplicates is a different way to boost the sub-stats on an item Upgrader mod. You can then improve the duplicates to give them more rarity and different set of sub-stats. If you're a high level player, this can be a useful strategy for increasing your character's DPS. However, you must be cautious not to overdo this and risk losing your MORA.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens let players roll the item currently being used by a unit. Rerolling the item results in an upgraded version that comes with different bonuses and a totally new type of equipment. Rerolling an item could raise its ilvl in certain instances. Rerolling an item is only useful if it has an uncommon affix.
Rerolling an object resets its power base as well as all upgrades and substats. This is helpful in the event that a ring's substats are not what the user is looking for or if the ring's maximum power was lower than the one desired. Reroll tokens can be obtained in a variety of ways such as from the mistery box, as an item dropped from skulled creatures or as an incentive for killing a boss.
Weapons, armor, rings and other accessories can all be transformed. Weapons can be rerolled for physical strength, spell power or health. Rings can be rerolled for durability or damage, while armor can be rerolled in order to reduce damage or boost defense. Rerolling an item of crafted equipment will also create a rare-like item of the same sort. However, a rerolled item won't retain the ilvls of its original owner and any resources wasted won't be compensated.
Pressing the green button on the menu of items will roll the item. The button will not be visible on any item that is currently equipped by an enemy unit. To reroll an object, the player must have at least one token for reroll in his inventory. This button will require the player to select which stat they wish to roll and then confirm the action. In some instances, the reroll may take longer than expected. This is a result of the rerolling system being able to provide numerous possible combinations. In these situations players can make use of another re-roll token to accelerate the process.
The level of an item is an important statistic that indicates the quality of an item.
