Pokemon GO Upgrade Items and Components

An upgrade item is an item upgrade that will make certain Pokemon develop. The Upgrade is made by spinning a PokeStop photo disc. It's often given as a prize during Pokemon GO events.

The Upgrade can also be found in weapons, armor trinkets, gathering tools and trinkets to boost their level of use. The upgrade costs Flightstones and crests, based on the type of item.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armors, weapons and gathering tools to add attribute bonuses or other effects when the equipment is being used. Upgrade components can only be used on equipment with an upgrade slot. The majority of upgrade components require that the item upgrading to be upgraded is at a certain level. Certain upgrade item items also come with special effects when they are applied to an item. Upgrade components are available through crafting, bought by karma merchants or traded with other players via the Trading Post. They can also be salvaged from equipment and redeemed as rewards.

A variety of upgrade components are available, each offering various bonuses. Universal upgrades such as gems and inscriptions are able to be applied to any type of equipment. They provide fewer bonuses than other types of upgrade component. Infusions can be utilized on legendary and non-amulet items, while enhancements can be used on some ascended back equipment. Slotting in an upgrade component will cause the destruction of the previous upgrade. The only exceptions are glyphs, which can only be inserted in gathering tools, as well as enchantments. Both can be removed and reinserted.

Insignias Enchantments, insignias, and prefix/suffix upgrades will be displayed in the hover display of the item, while they are added to the equipment's name (e.g. the word Radiant Insignia could change the name to Radiant Tyrian Armor). The number of upgrades that are added to an item will be displayed in the item upgrade's tooltip.

Glyphs

Glyphs are special characters that can be added into an OpenType font to add functional or decorative elements, such as ligatures, fractions, ornaments, swashes registered trademark symbols, and ellipses. The Glyphs Panel allows you to insert and examine these special characters, as well as regular symbols like em and en dashes as as registered trademark symbols.

Each Glyph gives a character boost in primary stats. The glyph can also have up to four secondary stats which will influence its radius on your Paragon Board. Secondary Stats are a percentage increase which is multiplied by other bonuses, except for Speed Glyphs that directly increase the speed of the hero.

Selecting the Glyphs and clicking "enchant" will activate the Glyphs. This will bring up a window that displays the Glyphs available to you. Make sure you select the right type of Glyph can be applied to the item you are looking for, as each weapon, jewelry or armor piece has distinct sets of Glyphs.

You can upgrade your Glyphs by finishing Tree of Whisper Quests or Nightmare Dungeons. The more difficult the Dungeon is, the greater Glyph experience you'll earn. Once a Glyph is at level 15 it is able to be upgraded on the Glyph Upgrade Altar. Upgrading a Glyph increases its radius on the Paragon Board by one node every 15 levels.

Once a Glyph has been elevated to the desired level, you can activate it by selecting it and then clicking the "enchant" button. The resulting glyph will provide its stated benefit and also boost all the other nodes that are within its radius on the Paragon Board. Glyphs should be put in areas that will benefit your build the most. This is why you should prioritise Magic Glyphs as soon as possible. Rare glyphs, however, could offer double bonuses if certain conditions are satisfied, so they're worth looking out for too.

If you're having difficulty finding a specific glyph, click the cycle widget on the Glyphs panel to show the panel in a number of different views. Each of these views shows the Glyphs using a different font. You can reduce the number of glyphs by selecting an option beneath "Entire Font". For instance, punctuation only shows punctuation glyphs. Math Symbols limit the selection to mathematical symbols.

Rerolling
