The best automatic vacuum cleaner robot hoover can mop and vacuum without needing your attention. It will leave your floors spotless. Its surprisingly affordable price and features that are high-end (such as dirt detection) are great features.
Be sure to regularly check your robot's brushes for hair that is tangled as well as large debris and clean them as needed. Certain models also automatically empty the dust bin on board and then deposit it in a larger bin located at the base. This can reduce the amount of fine dust that gets released into the air.
1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have test. They feature top-of-the-line motors that can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. And, like other top iRobot models (including the top choice) they utilize smart mapping technology to design detailed floor plans that avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. The robots also feature the feature of Carpet Boost which boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests on floors that were bare and are especially adept in cleaning hair from dogs. However, they do have a few flaws that keep them from being our top pick. For instance, the Q5's navigation doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to getting hung up on shoes and socks and can't navigate tight spaces very well in our tests. Also, it doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of the room.
Still, it's very good to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on an Roomba from iRobot, and you have a bare-floored home or office. Plus, it's very quiet and can work when you're at work or school. The only thing it's missing that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective in mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has an auto-emptying dock, however. If you're in need of it mop, the mopping pad can be changed for one that is wet in just a few minutes.
2. IRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into an elegant, compact package. Its intelligent cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean, and effective in dealing with larger particles, like pet hair. It also has a self-emptying bin, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, but it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mops utilizes sensors that help it stay clear of obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the layout of your home over time to provide more efficient cleaning. You can alter its cleaning schedule and set up zones with the well-designed app. It has a battery life that is comparable to other models.
If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to take off and extend its mops. This can help avoid cross-contamination. Its flex arm can also be used to reach beneath furniture that is low and along baseboards. It's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete the entire house with only 66 percent of its battery left. It also did a great job of cleaning a mix of floors and rooms with various flooring types, such as certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was excellent and it stayed clear of fake dog turds and socks, shoes and bundles of cables.
It's a little more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after it vacuums this feature, which we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combinations.
3. Roomba X40 from iRobot
With a sleek circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba rather than the boxes, this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most appealing looking in our reviews. The newest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent, with advanced features including enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).
It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored an exemplary 10/10 in our testing due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including a camera, structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.
Like other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, offering an easy mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only drawback is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This can be a problem in mornings before work or during the night when you are trying to fall asleep.
It's also somewhat expensive, although it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally powerful and look better. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's extremely powerful, but it's going to cost you more and produce more noise.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot vacuum cleaner and mop robot mop and vacuum. It comes with a variety of features that are advanced and will make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device that is similar to Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically empty the vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, and cleans and dry the mop pads.
The smart robot employs a combination of LIDAR and structured light to map out floor plans and spot obstacles, navigating more intelligently than some of its premium rivals. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards but this wasn't foolproof in our tests and was often confused with obstructions or power cords.
Its vacuum has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to get the job done. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home according to how dirty they tend to be.
For larger houses, it's worth opting for a model with spot or zone cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot to clean a specific area of your home by using the app or voice controls. A stair mode can be useful if you have a number of furniture. Also, a recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum mop cleaner robot pick up right where it left off is ideal for busy families.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you'd think from its price. It has a great vacuuming performance and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad and a reciprocating motion that is more efficient than most of the robot mop cleaners that we've tested. It's also self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app as well as a self-emptying, washable base.
The well-designed iRobot application guides you through an initial mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, arrange an area for cleaning or to prioritise your dirtiest rooms for better performance. The app comes with a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, meaning it can get to corners and underneath furniture better. It also has a strong 8000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for pet hair. It also has the ability to set up a spot cleaning that thoroughly cleans a particular area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive style, much like Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble cute eyes. It is capable of vacuuming, but it is more susceptible to be caught by low thresholds and is a bit more noisy than the other top robot vacuums we've tried. It also has a less user-friendly app and a small base station that can't be used as an emptying bin.
