Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry and wet messes in one time without the need to switch devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.
A good combination bot should be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacles avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer for its relatively modest price and is one of the most simple robots we've tested to install. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you running with a clean and complete dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in no time at all.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at high speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of pet hair, dirt and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.
You can, for example, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models cannot. The only problem is that the robot tends to hit objects and walls at full speed. However looking at the history of cleaning on the app will show you precisely what the robot vacuum cleaner best has accomplished, where it's going, and which obstacles it has encountered or avoided.
The docking station features an LCD display that indicates when maintenance is needed, such as emptying debris and washing the dirty water tank. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank with a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, prior to needing recharging or returning to the base. You can also view the entire cleaning information in the app, which is clearly laid out and is easy to comprehend although we would have liked to be able to differentiate between a vacuum only or a vacuum/mop clean when looking at a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's most popular robot vacuums best vacuum and mop. It's not like the model from last year, this one features two agitators in its mopping pad which significantly improves its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to remove fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could miss.
Like the two other Roborock models I've tested the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which helps to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates dual cameras that can detect objects, determining if they're walls or other surfaces. It then can automatically alter its path and clean the objects without a pause.
It's the most expensive model I've tried, but it also has the most features. Its sleek, angular style is attractive and it has just three physical buttons: the power button, which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock and a home button to return the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin fills up automatically.
The only drawback I could find to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if needed) but it's a challenge to remove the mount itself to wash it manually. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and could cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of clever features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can configure and manage these through the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and track battery life. However, you'll need to jump through a few hoops to enable voice control with this model which is a pity considering how well it performs otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with cutting-edge features, high suction power and cutting-edge mopping capabilities. Its intelligent design allows for personalized and efficient cleaning, while saving you time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair, crumbs and other dry messes. It comes with a mop that is high quality that cleans hard floors without the use of a pad. Additionally the X40 is quiet in it's operation, producing only occasional bursts of sound when switching modes or when completing self-maintenance tasks.
The X40 has a side brush that is able to be extended and lifted. This allows it to reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean furniture with curved edges such as table and chair legs. It can also get under furniture with low profile, making it an excellent option for apartments with small spaces or condos. The side brush tilts automatically down when it detects wet spots. This is a nice feature that helps the X40 to prevent damage to floors from repeated back-and-forth movements.
Contrary to other robots which only focus on one thing, the X40 is capable of performing mopping and vacuuming simultaneously or in a series. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas, and reverse the process. It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.
The app is simple to use and intuitive, and the X40 has many smart features that are simple to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, view mapping and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also monitor its progress and notify you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers numerous features that make it a great choice for busy families. The docking station can automatically empty the dustbin and wash mop pads before refilling them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It can also detect when the mop pad is filled and notify you before it overflows, reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot vacuums that mop is one of the most expensive models available on the market. It does have a number of features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature of its mop, utilizes two mop heads that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also vacuum up pet hair, small dirt particles and remove spills and dirt-stained spots.
The mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This is a great feature as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuums and mop models and could be a great method of keeping your home clean for longer.
There are plenty of options, including the option to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app or buttons on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and provides a number of options for customising your cleaning routine. It also comes with many features that aren't available on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design that has a white-and-metallic look that looks elegant and elegant. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this listing however it's not too heavy. It feels solid and well-built. Mopping is well designed and the double-rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. They can also extend up to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice touch.
