Product Reviews
Izziwotnot's Bailey Sleigh cot bed isn't the cheapest, but it's stylish and well-constructed. It's simple to put together, but it does require two people. It's gorgeous in any nursery. The panel we tested loved the dark wood and the dowel sides, and it's robust enough to be used until your baby becomes a toddler. It also meets British safety standards. The depth isn't that deep that your baby can climb out and the distance between the slats shouldn't be more than 65mm. This should prevent their head from being trapped. It's important to keep in mind that you will need to purchase a mattress on its own that is an additional PS88.
The cot stands out because of its sleigh-shaped design. It's also easy to get your baby in and out, which is a major benefit. It's slightly more expensive than some other cot beds, however our panel of experts thought it was worth the extra cost for its appearance and the durability.
The cot bed comes in either country pine or walnut finishes. It can be used from the moment of birth. It includes three mattress heights to ensure that you can start your child high to make it easier for them to access at night or during the day. Then lower it as they get older. It has teething rails to safeguard your child's furniture and gums. When your child is out of the cot bed it can be converted into a junior bed and then it can be converted into a sofa.
Silver Cross' westport design is a different wooden cot bed design that has a solid feel and is constructed to last. It can be used as a cot right from birth, then later as a toddler bed and finally to become a junior bed (toddler guard rail sold separately). It was a bit difficult for our panel to turn the crib into a bed, however, their other half of the panel reported that it was simple and took less than 5 minutes. It's also a bit more expensive than other cots, but it's a style that you'll likely want to keep and use for your children as they grow.
