BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost uses the CAN data bus for communication with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from replacing the ECU or putting in a new lock to bypass the security system.

The Ghost is unlike other immobilisers in that it does not use key-fobs or LED indicators. Instead it uses your vehicle's existing buttons to allow you to enter a unique disarm sequence that you only know.

Stop & Start

If you've previously driven a brand new BMW or used the stop start feature, then you might have noticed that once stopped the engine will still continue to run for around 30 seconds after releasing the brake pedal. This is due to the BMW engine management system continuously monitoring your vehicle for signals from the ignition key, and when it is detected, it will keep running. Our BMW ghost immobiliser is a revolutionary next-generation device that does not require cutting OEM wires or adding aftermarket alarm and key fobs. It is connected to the BMW CAN data network and is programmed with an unique PIN code that is accessed by buttons in your car. This allows you to enter key sequences that aren't available in the normal media menus. For instance, volume up/down or source, air conditioning, cruise control and more. The PIN can be between 4 and 20 characters, making it difficult for thieves to figure out.

In addition to this we can also add a service/ valet mode to the system. This is activated when the car is being serviced to ensure that the Ghost is not visible to the garage. This can be done by pressing the service button on your infotainment system five times (the system will flash to confirm this) and then when you return the Ghost will automatically arm again.

If you are parked at home or in the event of a meet and greet the Ghost can be put into service mode. This allows you to start the car with your keys in the normal way, but prevents the engine from starting again unless the correct code is entered. This is ideal for those who need to hand over their cars to valet companies or trusted family members or friends. It also lets you get the car into the garage for servicing etc without having to worry about it getting taken away or altered by a mechanic while you wait.

If the service/valet mode has been enabled when the service/valet mode is enabled, your BMW will not be able to drive after it has been started. This stops anyone else from testing driving it while you're away. When you return, the car will return to normal operation and stop it from being damaged or stolen.

Anti-Hijack

With high-tech thieves becoming more and more sophisticated the security technology is continuing to change, that's why Ghost has created this discrete and non-obtrusive immobiliser. It is designed to prevent thieves from adding a new key or replacing the ECU in order to start your car and then drive it away. ghost car immobiliser connects to your CAN data network and uses the buttons in your vehicle (steering wheel, centre console and door panels) to create a unique push sequence which must be completed before the engine can start.

This will activate the anti-hijack mode and once active, any attempt to start the engine will be immediately blocked. When the system determines that the vehicle is no longer moving, it will honk the horn and flash the indicators. If it is not able to locate the correct code, it will also stop the engine (where possible). By entering your push sequence or entering service mode, you can disable the Anti-Hijack feature. This allows your vehicle to start temporarily without entering PIN.

If you own an GPS device that is connected to your BMW it can be used to turn off the Anti-Hijack feature, allowing you to still use the navigation system inside your car even when the vehicle is parked and unsupervised. If you own a smart-phone, you can also link it up to your Ghost app to control the anti-hijack function and other functions.

The device installs inside the key-fob in your vehicle and disconnects the battery after a short period of inactivity, this is possible on all modern PKE key-fobs.
