Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet mess in one time without the need to switch between devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot must be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bins, refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads with an appropriate dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer for its low cost and is one of the most simple robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is simple, and the quick-start guide gets you up and running in no time with the complete dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at high speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of pet hair, dirt, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, as well as a selection of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For instance, you can choose to have the robot clean up the kitchen and living rooms but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. The only problem is that it is known to smash into walls and objects at a high speed. However, a quick look at the history of cleaning in the app will reveal exactly what the robot has completed, where it's going, and which obstacles it has encountered or avoided.
The docking station has an LCD display that indicates when maintenance is needed like emptying the debris and washing the water tank that is dirty. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank with a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can run for 136 minutes in standard mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. You can also view the entire cleaning information in the app, which is intuitively laid out and easy to understand although we would like to be able to differentiate between a vacuum and mop clean, when looking at a cleaned area in the cleaning history.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum that vacuums and mops vacuum and mop is the most recent version. It's not like the model from last year it comes with a double agitator in its mopping pad which greatly improves carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that allows it to remove finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners could miss.
Like the other two Roborock models I've tried, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that helps to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by adding a dual camera which can recognize objects and determine whether they are an object that is a wall or a different surface. It will then automatically alter its direction and clean them without missing a beat.
It's the most expensive model I've tried however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is striking and has only three physical buttons: the power button, that also resumes cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to send the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin auto-refills.
The only negative I discovered with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if needed) but it's a challenge to remove the mount itself to wash it manually. I've observed that any carpet that the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mounts, which can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app lets you manage and configure these features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's life. But you'll need to jump through a few hurdles to enable voice control on this model, which is a shame considering how well it performs otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum that vacuums and mops vacuum and mop with outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its smart design allows you to personalize and efficiently clean while reducing time.
The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner to provide 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the most effective alternatives available. This powerful automatic vacuum and mop is able to clean up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry debris. It comes with a mop of high quality that cleans hard floors without the need for pads. Additionally, the X40 is quiet in its operation, with only occasional bursts of sound when switching modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.
Another standout feature is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush which allows it to get into hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean furniture, such as tables and chairs' legs. It also lets the robot to reach under furniture with a low profile making it an ideal choice for small apartments and condos with tight spaces. The side brush also automatically tilts down when detecting wet spots, which is a nice touch that helps the X40 keep floors safe from damage caused by repeated back-andforth movements.
Unlike other robots, which are restricted to a single task, the X40 can vacuum and mop at the same time. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors and skip carpeted areas or vice versa. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is easy to use and intuitive and the X40 has many smart features that are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, switch modes, look at floor plans and maps and control mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress and notify you when it is finished.
The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers many convenient features, making it a perfect choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin and wash the mop pads, then refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It will also tell you if the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation before it overflows.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive on the market however, it comes with many extra features that distinguish it from. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature on its mop, utilizes two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also vacuum up pet hair, small dirt particles and remove spills and dirt-stained spots.
The mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after every use. This feature is great because it stops mould and unpleasant odours from building up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a system we've yet to see on other robot vacuums and mop models and it could be a great method to keep your home clean for longer.
There are many options, including the option to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. The app lets you set these preferences or you can use the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and offers a variety of options to customize your cleaning routine. It also has several features that aren't offered on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a metallic-white-white finish that looks elegant and elegant. It's a little heavier than the other two-in-1 robots on this list - at 4kg however it's not overly heavy either, and it feels robust and well built. The mopping system is well designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. They can also extend to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice feature.
