Izziwotnot’s Bailey Sleigh cot-bed isn't cheap but it's elegant and well-constructed. It is easy to assemble however it does require two people. It looks gorgeous in any nursery. The panel we tested loved the dark wood and the dowel sides. It's strong enough to last until your baby becomes a toddler. It also is compliant with British safety standards. The depth isn't enough that your child can get out, and the distance between slats should not be more than 65mm. This should stop their heads from becoming trapped. It is important to remember that you'll need buy a mattress separately that is an additional PS88.
The sleigh-shaped crib is stunning and makes it stand out from other cots. It's also easy to take your baby in and out, which is a big plus. It's a little more expensive than other cots, but our panel thought it was worth it due to the looks and durability.
The cot bed comes in either country pine or walnut finishes. It is suitable from birth. It includes three mattress heights, so that you can start off your child high, making it easier for them to use at night or during the day. Then lower it as they get older. It also includes teething rails that protect your child's gums and their precious furniture. Once your baby is out of the cot bed it can easily be converted into a junior bed, and then a sofa.
Silver Cross' westport design is another cot with a solid feel and is constructed to last. It can be used as a wooden cot with bed price starting at birth, then later as a toddler bed and finally into a junior bed (toddler guard rails are available separately). It was a bit difficult for our panel to convert the cot into a bed, however, their other half of the panel said it was simple and took less than 5 minutes. It's also a bit more expensive than other cots but it's a style that you'd probably like to keep and use for your children as they grow older.
