item level upgrade upgrading allows players to boost the gear score of an item upgrader mod up to 700 and also add a final perk. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you bring them to the Kiln.
Certain items can be upgraded for their unique stats (like an ideally broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) and others, like weapons, don't change much post upgrade, and therefore aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can boost their numerical stats, including attack damage, crit chance, and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons also come with a flat bonus which increases the damage they deal per second. In addition some weapons come with an added bonus that is activated when three or more of the same weapon are present on a single unit. In some instances, this bonus could add up to more than the amount of damage that a weapon can sustain on its own.
The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity as well as its current level. For example the weapon with a +2 rating will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade the gun will increase until it needs more Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.
Upgrades to weapons will also change the stats of the base. While this is generally beneficial but it can also have negative effects as well. Upgrades can make things inaccessible, unless you're very lucky.
Items of armor can also be upgraded to improve their performance. For instance, if you have a helm or chest, it will boost its base defense while a belt and gloves will increase their strength and dexterity. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it is able to reroll down to a lower value.
The upgrade template for a weapon will display the new stats it will get when upgraded and their respective values. This means that a change from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11 attack-damage sword will result in a weapon gaining 3% of attack damage. The 3% difference does not mean that the weapon will strike three times less, since it is an absolute number.
A weapon can also be rerolled by pressing the green button that has arrows that circle in the item menu. This will roll an item and alter its stats, but it will not reset the weapon's level or bind it to account status.
Armor
A few tweaks to your armor can make an enormous difference in your capacity to withstand. Certain sets can offer MASSIVE boosts to poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, making it easier to navigate through tough terrain. In general, the greater defense you can offer your character, the more health you will receive from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four in total and each one requires you to complete a special side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've done the main side quest and completed the fountain in question you'll be able to speak to any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrading menu.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels, and the amount of materials and Rupees required to complete each will vary. You'll need anywhere from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the first armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, for example can be upgraded to a +5 defense rating, which allows you to stay ahead in cold environments with a lot of adversaries. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other is able to be upgraded to +20 defense to ensure you can survive a raid with friends.
Note that armor can't be upgraded in the same way as weapons, so you'll want to concentrate on enhancing it to increase physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power when you're Mage. It is also recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you'll still wear at the end of the story, such as the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you'll wear in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
You can also unlock some advantages to your armor by giving the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll generally want to save these upgrades to the weapon you'll be using to beat the game. For instance, the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have some upgrades to the chest armor and helmets to allow you to sneak around some monsters.
Potions
Potions are substances in bottles that, if consumed, give the player an effect on their status for a short period of time. There are five different types of potions, each with particular effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to enhance their level of effectiveness. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.
Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP, which can be earned by making them using a craft table or in an Alchemist's chest. The cost of upgrading varies based on the type of potion as well as the item's rarity and Mark Level.
To upgrade a potion, right-click on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This opens a GUI in which you can select the potions you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they will yield when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at a time, and their XP will be added to the total amount of XP you have.
Once a potion has been upgraded, it won't degrade until you use it again, or break the bottle it is stored in. You can also rename the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.
There were some changes to the mechanics of potion in version 1.7.2. Splash potions, for instance have now a duration of that is 0:08 instead of 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display for the item upgrader mod. The table for potion can now be crafted with four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can be used in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons like Java Edition. The same is true for using a potion within a cauldron that is full. This will deplete the liquid, and then refill the bottle.
Lastly, there are now lingering potions, which are brewed with splash and dragon breath potions. Redstone can also be added to potions that are lingering to increase their effects. The table of potion ingredients has been rearranged to appear more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added like the potion of leaping and decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket can be described as a small and affordable ornament or piece of jewelry. It may be a reference to an object or ornament that serves a purpose, but isn't particularly significant, such as a tiny thimble. In certain cultures, a trinket is used to show affection or friendship between family members.
In addition to armor, weapons, and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. These can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. Trinkets, unlike other items which can be upgraded can be exchanged at any time without losing stats.
The upgrade vendors are found in major cities and the capital of each zone, and in some cases, dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased using tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.
Upgrading a trinket is a cost-effective alternative to purchasing new ones. You can upgrade a trinket with as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket comes with the same base level as the old trinket however, it will also come with an additional 1% bonus upgrade.
Trinkets can be upgraded when the old ones are not needed, allowing a player to increase their power and worth over time. They can also be traded between players, making them a popular alternative to gold.
Players must upgrade their most valuable items first. This usually means the Best item upgrade-in-slot items for their class, then their secondary items and finally, other gear items that they won't replace soon (for instance an earring or cloak). When deciding the items to upgrade, players should be aware of the preferred statistics of their class. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to a tank player, then they should upgrade their chest, helm, and shoulders.
After they've become unusable trinkets are able to be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket has an additional bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade will ruin the previous trinket, unless it is saved using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an additional salvage tool of higher quality. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades but still less expensive than purchasing a new one.
