Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He tests and evaluates cleaning appliances, focusing on robot vacuums and mopping combos. These multitaskers are an excellent option for those who wish to cross mopping off the to-do list. Some of them have excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Some even wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking for a robot hoover vacuum that also mop, this is the model you should go for. It's smaller than other models on this list, making it easier to navigate into tight corners and underneath furniture. It features a 220 degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the most effective navigation and obstacle avoidance I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It has a hefty 4600mAh battery which lasts up to 170-minutes if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it is able to run longer in turbo). It can even return to the dock to replenish its battery part way through cleaning.
It's fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room and hallways with only one motion. Its 8,000pa motor is able to pick up dirt, pet hair, and poop with ease. Carpet detection boosts power automatically when it comes into contact with rugs, and the dual side brushes help draw away debris from corners.
The mopping efficiency, while still impressive, is not as good. The rotating mop spins at a high speed and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scraping away dirt and staining. I've also noticed that the front arms stick out a bit more than other robots, which is useful to maneuver around tight corners and on baseboards. The front arms can also be used to pick up larger debris like broken toys and books.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've used. It is quieter and doesn't produce as much noise when vacuuming or mopping. The only issue is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for its mopping function and is sold separately from the vacuum. It's simple to set up and works well however, it's something you'll need to be aware of if you're buying this robot vacuums that mop vacuum solely for the purpose of mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums which mops in its class. It is a powerful cleaning machine with a range of features.
The device is equipped with an efficient cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out your home, find furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean effectively and effectively. This will ensure a thorough and consistent clean, while also being relatively fast.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad is capable of reaching many surfaces. These include corners, baseboards, and other hard-to-reach spots. They also have a flexible side brush that extends to reach the floor near walls and other fixtures. Additionally the mop pads can be dried and washed to avoid build-up and lessen the odors.
App-based customization is another notable feature. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction intensity and choose an back-and-forth or random pattern. You can also set the number of passes it should make, which will determine how quickly the device can move through your home. You can also deactivate the side brush to protect your carpets from damage. carpets.
The device comes with a expensive price, but is packed with a wide array of smart features. It's important to note that it incurs periodic expenses in the form of mopping equipment and maintenance. For example the brushroll has to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad needs to be replaced every one to three months.
The robot vacuum that mops has a high rating on Amazon and comes with a wide range of physical automation features. These include an energy button that doubles as a general 'Clean' button and a 'Home button that will take it back to its base station after completing the cleaning process. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the dustbin, refills its water tank and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a professional with a lot of work or someone who just wants an organized home that doesn't require much time doing chores The Shark Matrix Plus is a solid choice. It is a powerful machine with intelligent navigation, and a long battery life that allows you to keep your home clean with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot hoover and mop vacuum and mop, which means it is able to handle both vacuuming and mopping. It has two modules: a dry bin and water reservoir and a separate mopping module with microfiber pads that snap into and out of the way. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming may seem a bit old-fashioned, but they do mean you don't have to think about changing disposable bags or refilling the water tank.
Our test participants discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature was its precise map of your floorplan that it uses to determine a route when cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option to set 'No-Go zones' and virtual barriers, which help to shield specific areas of your home from being swept with a mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of collecting hair of pets. It was able capture a large amount of hair shed by our cats and even was able to get into the nooks and crannys of our stairs, where other robots struggled. The noise levels of the robot were low, and there were some lovely jingles that let you know that it was starting and getting its work done.
The app was too simple and you had to switch the modules each time you switched between vacuuming and mops. The app is not able to keep multiple maps. This can be an issue if your house has multiple floors. The Matrix Plus is a good choice for people who want an intelligent robot vacuum cleaners uk that can do both mopping and vacuuming.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive of our review. However, it does have distinct features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni is most notable for its massive dock that doubles as an charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses the 2.5-liter dust bin as well as the 2.5 dust bin that is 2.5 liters.
The base has several control buttons, which allow you to manually start cleaning tasks, recall the robot vacuum cleaners uk or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock which is a great touch for parents worried about kids tinkering with the vacuum.
Like other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni uses its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni can occasionally get caught up in obstacles, like the power cord that is draped across a rug, that it gets stuck and stops working until you free it. This was a rare incident, but frustrating nonetheless, since the X1 does not have a "stuck status" alert on its app.
The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You will have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad however, mopping pads don't get cleaned or dried between use. This could lead to mildew and mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed the sleek, modern base and mopping pad. It's a significant contrast to the basic black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. And it's an excellent choice for the market that is dominated by boxy units.
