If you've always wanted to purchase a robot vacuum, now is the time to get one. CNET's best rated robot vacuum-Highest Rated Robot Vacuum models will be on sale for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, with discounts up to 57%..
The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that is equipped with smart mapping and app-based no go zones. Its 180-minute running time is impressive. It also automatically refills and self-empties its water tank.
1. iRobot Roomba j7+
The Roomba J7+ is iRobot's smartest robot vacuum to date. Its most significant innovation is a camera-based obstacle detection system that uses built-in AI to detect objects such as charging cords, shoes, and the pet waste that many other robots are unable to avoid (and often plough right through). It's also the first to automatically send you a photo of any object it encounters so you can tell it to avoid it in the future.
The Combo J7+ is the most efficient robot mop we have ever tested. It cleans up dirt and spills easily and leaves no trace of it was there. It's easy to control using the iRobot Home app, which allows you to schedule cleaning and create Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't clean areas you don't want it to. And it's compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can start and stop it by speaking to it.
Its design is a step above the competition and features a sleek, top piece that appears more like a toy robot rather than a loud, loud one. The Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System is self-emptying, which is great to speed up cleaning.
In our tests, we observed that the j7+ was quick to eliminated dirt, dust and hair from pets. The counter-rotating rubber brushes held the debris in its place instead of scattering it across the floor. It even managed to capture sand and small gravel, which most other robots can't. It did all of this without getting tangled up in our pet's hair shedding.
The j7+, although not as intelligent as the Roomba S9, which costs $1,217+ Self-Emptying Vacuum from iRobot and isn't able to clean the stairs, it's an option for those who need both mopping and vacuum. It's not expensive and the iRobot App makes it easy to use.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use, however we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner applications. It can take a while to download updates, and at times it's difficult to tell whether the update actually functioning until you've seen it in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you're looking for an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean floors, the best robot vacuum cleaner choice is probably a hybrid. These machines are equipped with a water tank so they can mop and vacuum simultaneously. They also come with a variety of extra features, including smart mapping, small obstacles avoidance, and the ability to dry and wash mopping pads. The downside is that they tend to be pricey at full retail, but during Black Friday and Cyber Monday they often drop in price.
Roborock is the manufacturer of some of our most loved robotic vacuums, and the Q5+ is no exception. disappoint. It's their most affordable auto-empty model, and although it's not equipped with certain features found on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still an excellent option if you're willing to sacrifice a little to save hundreds of dollars.
The Q5+ is exceptionally gentle when it comes to obstacles like tables and walls. This makes it an excellent choice for homes that have lots of furniture. It's also very thorough in removing dust bunnies. This is a place where many cheaper robot vacuums do not excel in. The Q5+'s navigation system is excellent, with few misses along walls or in corners.
The Q5+, like other Roborock products can be controlled with a few buttons on the device or through the Roborock App. The app lets you start and stop cleaning or schedules, establish virtual barriers and no-go zones, and modify your home map or change the labels of rooms.
If you decide to go with the Q5+, it comes with a brand new auto vacuum-empty dock, which was specifically designed to make the robot easy to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver, but once in place, emptying the bin can be accomplished without difficulty. It also features a large LCD display that is great to have when you're creating schedules or changing settings. This feature isn't required for most people but it can help to keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a sophisticated well-rounded mop and vacuum. It's capable of both mopping and vacuuming. Its design is among the most innovative in the market however it's quite expensive.
The base station is attractive and is hidden when it's not in use, and its dimensions are quite small. The station's main selling point is that it automates many tasks, chores and functions that other robots would leave to you. It stores clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which many other robots require you to do), empties the dustbin after vacuuming, and ensures that your robot clean and charged.
Its vacuuming capabilities are also impressive. It's the only robovac that I've used that has done well at picking up debris from bare floors. It's also not as loud as the expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.
The Freo X Ultra is not without flaws, especially when it comes navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs. This means that it is prone to getting stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of the house. It's not able to climb stairs as well as competitors,, and it doesn't have a dock that allows you to create a dedicated cleaning zone for plush carpets.
Although it doesn't have the same amount of cleaning-related options in its app or as many shortcuts in the app as some other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for those looking for an all-around great mop and robot vacuum that's worth the premium price tag.
If you're looking to save money or don't mind the limitations of the robot, there are other options on the market. Many of the eufy models cost considerably less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance, is cheaper and offers the same experience in the app, but with more features like the ability to climb stairs, a full-function dock, and superior overall performance when vacuuming floors as well as high- and low-pile carpets.
4. Eufy RoboVac g30
Eufy, a Anker company, has a track record of producing highest rated robot vacuum vacuums that strike the perfect balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different and offers a powerful cleaning on hard floors and mopping functions as well as carpets at a reasonable price. It's easy to set it up, simply attach one of the side brush and turn it on, then connect your charging dock. The app guides you through a few steps to connect it to your Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. The dock must be located close to an outlet that has plenty of space to move.
The G30 is a small device that measures 2.85 inches in height, so it can fit under most couches and low-clearance pieces of furniture. Its design is more subtle compared to some rival models. It is sleek with a black finish with three physical buttons for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs an area in a spiral pattern over two minutes) Recharge, and Spot Cleaner. It is also possible to connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform unscheduled cleaning.
The way in which the G30 cleans is what sets it apart from its competitors. It uses an integrated map to draw an image of the immovable items in its path. It remembers the things it has cleaned and what it is unable to access. It automatically returns to the base to recharge, and then begins cleaning the area it left.
The elegant G30 has a few flaws. The iRobot Roomba 675 is more built, incurs lower recurring costs, charges more quickly and has the same battery life, while providing superior performance on floors that are unfinished and low-pile carpet. It also has a larger dust bin that doesn't have to be emptied as often and comes with the boundaries that ensure it isn't in certain areas. The G30, however is more affordable and much easier to maintain. Its smaller canister means it doesn't have to be emptied as frequently, and it has less difficulty handling bulky products like cereal.
