Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He evaluates and tests cleaning equipment, focusing on mopping and robot vacuums with mop vacuum combos. These multitaskers are an excellent choice for those who want to get mopping off their to-do list. They are equipped with impressive mapping and obstacle avoidance, and some wash and refill their own mopping pads for a hands-off clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you should choose if you want an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than other models and makes it easier to maneuver in tight spaces or under furniture. It has a 220-degree lidar that combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it the best automatic vacuum cleaner navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It's powered by a 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170 minutes when cleaning and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer when it is set to turbo). It can even return to its dock to replenish its battery mid-clean.
It's extremely quick and does a great job of cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It cleans the carpeted areas extremely quickly, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, hallways, and living room in one go. Its 8,000pa suction motor will quickly pick up sand, dirt, and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects carpets, and the dual side brush assists in removing debris from corners.
The mopping efficiency, while still impressive, is not as good. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and utilizes 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arms stick out slightly more than other robots, which is helpful for getting into tight corners and on baseboards. The same front arms can also be employed to clean larger objects, such as broken toys or books.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tested. It is quieter and doesn't create more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The only issue is that the S1 Pro must use a exclusive cleaning solution for its mopping function and is separate from the vacuum. It's easy to install and performs well however it's something you'll need to keep an eye on if you're buying this robot vacuum solely for the purpose of it mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other Best robot vacuum uk vacuums in its class. It is a powerful cleaner with a variety of features.
The device comes with an efficient cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This enables it to map out the home, identify furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean efficiently and efficiently. This will ensure an efficient and consistent cleaning and is also quick.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach many surfaces. They can reach corners or baseboards, as well as other hard-to-reach spots. The side brush can be stretched out to reach the floor near to the walls or other fixtures. The mop pads can also be washable and can be dried to remove odors and prevent buildup.
Another notable feature is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo lets you adjust the suction intensity and choose a back-and forth or slightly random pattern. You can also choose the number of passes, which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can also decide to disable the side brush to prevent damaging carpets and rugs.
The device has a high price tag but is packed with a wide array of advanced features. It is important to keep in mind that the device incurs periodic costs in the form of mopping supplies as well as regular maintenance. For instance, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter will need to be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad needs to be replaced every three to six months.
The robot vacuum mop is a top Amazon rating and comes with many physical automation features. The robot vacuum also has an energy button that doubles as the 'Clean button' as well as a 'Home button to send it home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a busy professional or someone who wants an organized home that doesn't require hours doing chores then the Shark Matrix Plus is a solid choice. It has powerful performance, intelligent navigation, and a long battery life that makes it simple to keep your home tidy with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it is able to handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot comes with two modules: a combined dry bin and water reservoir and a separate mopping system with a microfiber pad that snaps into and out of the way. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming, but it does mean you don't have to fret about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its greatest feature is its precise floorplan map, which it uses when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app also offers the option of setting 'No-Go zones' and virtual barriers, which can help to keep specific areas of your home from being cleaned with a mop.
We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well at picking up hair of pets. It was able capture some of the hair our cats shed, and even got into the corners and crevices of our stairs, where other robots have struggled. It was quiet and had some nice jingles that signalled when it was about to start or completing its task.
Its main drawbacks were its simplistic app and the need to switch out the modules when switching between vacuuming and mopping. The app doesn't have the capacity to contain multiple maps, which could be a problem for homes that has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those who want a smart robot vacuum that mops that can perform both vacuuming and mopping.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that can be found in our test, but it also has distinct features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni is notable for its huge dock that doubles as a charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses the 2.5-liter dustbin and a 2.5 milliliter dust bin.
The base also has a variety of buttons to control the system. These let you manually start a cleaning task and then recall the robot or use the dock's automatic emptying process. Press two of the buttons to turn off the child lock that is a great touch for parents worried about children playing with the vacuum.
Like other robotic vacuums the Omni Omni utilizes its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at recognizing objects.
Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni will occasionally become so entangled with obstacles, like the power cord that is draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you manually free it. This was a rare incident however it was frustrating since the X1 does not have an "stuck status" alert in its app.
Another issue that could be a problem is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during cleaning. You will have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad but the mopping pad doesn't get cleaned or dried between use. This could lead to mildew and mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek, modern base and mopping pad. It's a significant contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing view in a market that is dominated by bulky boxy models.
