Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He reviews and tests cleaning equipment, with a focus on mopping and robot vacuum combos. These multitaskers are a great option for those looking to take mopping off their to-do list. Some of them have excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Some even wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking for a robot vacuum that can also mop, this is the model you should go for. It's smaller than other models on this list, which makes it easier to maneuver into tight corners and underneath furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it one of my top navigation and object avoidance features I've seen in a robotic vacuum. It comes with a massive 4600mAh battery which lasts up to 170-minutes when mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can run longer in turbo). It will even return to its dock to recharge its battery mid-clean.
It's very fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways with only one motion. Its 8,000pa motor is able to remove dirt, pet hair, and even droppings effortlessly. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it comes into contact with rugs, and the dual side brushes help to tease out debris from corners.
The mopping performance is a little less impressive, but not by a lot. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and utilizes 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stains. I've also noticed that the front arms protrude out slightly more than other robots, which is useful to get into tight corners and on baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to pick up larger objects like books and broken toys.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've tested. It is quieter and doesn't produce more noise when vacuuming or mopping. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It is easy to set up and performs well. However should you purchase this robot vacuum solely to mop, you will need to pay attention to this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mop vacuums that mops in its class. It is a powerful cleaner with a wide range of features.
The device is equipped with a powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This enables it to map out your home, detect furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean effectively and effectively. This will ensure an efficient and consistent cleaning and is also quick.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach a variety of surfaces. This includes corners and baseboards as well as other hard-to-reach areas. They also have a flexible side brush that can extend to the floor in close proximity to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are also washable and dry to remove odors and prevent buildup.
App-based customization is another notable feature. The Q Revo allows you to alter the strength of suction and choose between a back-andforth, or a more random pattern. You can also adjust the number of passes it will make, which will determine how quickly the device can move through your home. You can also deactivate the side brush in order to protect your carpets from damage. rugs.
The device comes with a expensive price, but is packed with a wide array of smart features. It is important to remember, however, that the device incurs periodic costs in the form of mopping equipment and regular maintenance. For example, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter must be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad should be replaced every one to three months.
This robotic vacuum cleaner has an excellent Amazon rating and includes an array of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with an energy button that doubles as the 'Clean button' as well as a 'Home button that allows it to go back home after cleaning. It also has a multifunctional dock that automatically empties the dustbin and refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dries its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal option for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home tidy without spending too much time doing chores. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation and long battery life allow you to keep a clean home with little effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is an all-in-one vacuum and mop. It is capable of vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot is divided into two modules that include a dry bin as well as a water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping module which has a microfiber pad. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping however it does mean you don't have to worry about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature is its accurate floorplan map, which it utilizes when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mop.
We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up pet hair. It was able to collect the majority of hair shed by our cats and even found its way into the nooks and crannys of our stairs which other robots struggled. It was relatively quiet and even had some nice jingles that indicated when it was beginning or finished its work.
Its biggest drawbacks were its simple app and the need to change out the modules whenever switching between vacuuming and mopping. The app can't keep multiple maps. This could be a problem if your home has multiple floors. The Matrix Plus is a good choice for people who want an intelligent robot vacuum and mop that can perform both vacuuming and mopping.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum cleaner reviews vacuum that can be found in our test, but it comes with some distinctive features that are worth taking into consideration. The X1 Omni is notable for its enormous dock that serves as a charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks that are 4 liters in size. It also houses two bins: a 2.5-liter dust bin and the 2.5 milliliter dust bin.
The base also comes with a set of buttons to control the system. These allow you to manually start cleaning or recall the robot or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Press two of the buttons to turn off the child lock, which is a nice option for parents concerned about kids tinkering with the vacuum.
The X1 Omni, like other robotic vacuums, uses its camera to identify obstacles and furniture in its path. It will stay clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at recognising objects.
Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni will occasionally become so entangled with an obstacle--such as the power cord that is draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you remove it manually. This is a rare event however, it was a bit frustrating since the X1 does not have a "stuck status" alert in its app.
The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during cleaning. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad but the mopping pad doesn't get washed or dried between uses. This can lead to mildew and mold.
On the positive side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a big contrast to the basic black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. It's also an impressive sight in an industry dominated by boxy models.
