robot vacuum best vacuums and mops are becoming more capable, acing our tests for cleaning and taking on different types of floors. Choose models that permit you to select between a variety of modes, including self-emptying and clean stairs.
Many of the best models integrate with your smartphone. Look for an application that lets you save maps, schedules and select cleaning options.
1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
Eufy's gunmetal and gloss black Omni S1 Pro is one of the most impressive robot vacuum and mop combinations on the market. It uses lidar for navigation and creates maps of rooms and floors.
When I tried the S1, it was quick to identify our downstairs, which is home to linoleum flooring in the kitchen-diner and bathrooms, along with carpeting with a medium-pile and an area rug. It was able to drive close to walls without crashing into them, and even managed to traverse thresholds for rooms that are raised without issue, though it occasionally was unable to navigate down the stairs in one pass. The S1 also did a great job cleaning hard floors with its mop that moved smoothly on the flat side against the floor and then lifting itself when it reached carpet or carpet.
After every mopping session, the docking station on the S1 automatically emptys its trash bin and refills its water tank with filtered, clean water ozonated. The dock also adds a cleaning solution to the water to ensure deep cleaning. The S1's tank of water holds enough water for about a dozen cleaning sessions before it needs to be empty, but this will vary depending the amount you use the mop.
The S1 needs periodic maintenance, just like other 2-in-1 robots. You'll need to periodically rinse out the tank that has been contaminated to prevent it from becoming clogged. Also, you'll need to clean your sensor and swivel wheel frequently to prevent them from getting clogged up with dirt or dust. Overall, the S1 requires less maintenance than other combos.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
This all-in-one robot vacuum and mop combo from Ecovacs is a powerful option for cleaning requirements. The robot vacuum has 8700Pa of suction power and comes with a variety of innovative features including voice control and smart path planning that cleans around furniture and eliminates obstacles. Its mopping capability is impressive. Rotating mops actually lift the floor and scrub it instead of just drag a pad across a surface. The mops are also cleaned and dried in the base station when required.
This robot combo is easy to set up and use, with a simple interface that guides you through the procedure. It includes an electric hand vacuum that can be recharged to reach those areas the robot isn't able to reach and two water tanks that are automatically emptied and filled as needed. It also comes with a variety of settings that can be used to fine tune your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete does a good robot vacuum job at vacuuming, with strong suction that easily removes most debris and even the smaller bits of dust that other robots struggle with. Its navigation capabilities are robust, however it can sometimes get caught up on the tiny area mats or rugs that I have in my home (which is something you can reduce by defining a virtual boundary within the app). Mopping capabilities are excellent, with a pair spinning mop pads that are able to lift and scrub floors instead of simply moving the pad across it. The mops can also be cleaned with heated water, and dried in the base station when required. The mops are also refilled from the top of the base station as required.
3. Dreame X40 Ultra
Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop was launched earlier this year. However, their latest flagship model comes with even more impressive features. It is a great cleaner and is simple to maintain. This makes it a worthy contender for our top list of robot vacuums and mop. Its superior mapping abilities, RGB AI smart detection, and an expanded side brush ensure that an effective, customized cleaning is achieved.
The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming, removing large and fine particles from both hard floors and carpets. It also cleaned our tests' most soiled areas efficiently, while eliminating pet hairs that are tangled and other messes. The sweeping performance is augmented by a side brush that swings out to tackle hard-to-reach corners, and an extendable mop pad that can be placed alongside baseboards.
Its navigation is nimble that can navigate tight spaces and negotiating stairs without missing a beat. It can go from one room to the next without having to change direction. This is beneficial for homes with a lot of rooms. Its obstacle avoidance system is not as advanced than other models however, and tends to leave a thick space around obstacles, which could result in missed spots.
The app's interface is intuitive and streamlined. It should be simple to use for both novices and experienced users. The app allows you to plan and manage cleanings, adjust suction power and mopping settings and view 3D and 2D maps, and much more. It is accessible via the app, Alexa, Google Assistant, or Siri and allows you to monitor its progress from anywhere. You can even use the X40 Ultra's camera remotely for real-time video supervision. But, you'll require a stable Wi-Fi connection to operate it through the app and external controls.
4. Roomba Q5 Pro
robot vacuums best vacuums are excellent in removing dirt and debris, but they can't reach every speck of dust. It's essential to clean your home frequently, every week. This is particularly important for dust that builds up in corners, on shelves and in the crevices of your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro, a 2-in-1 robot that vacuums as well as mop, is made to do just that. It is easy to connect it to your home WiFI network and works with Alexa or Apple Siri.
The Q5 is a stripped down version of the more expensive models in the S-series from the company, including the top-of-the-line Roborock S8 maxV ultra. It uses the same LIDAR mapping sensors, but it's less expensive because it doesn't come with mopping capabilities and has a plastic body.
Although it's no longer able to wipe your floors, the Q5 has some of the best robot vacuum and mop mopping and vacuum performance we've seen from a robotic in this price range. It's got a powerful suction power of 5500Pa and an automatic emptying system, so you don't have to empty the bin manually every time. It also has a clever app that lets you set your floor type and schedule cleanings, as well as an automatic water tank refill and wash system to allow hands-free operation.
Its mops are also impressive with 2700Pa of power to tackle dirt, dust, and pet hair on both carpets and hard floors. The Q5 is one of the few robots we test that didn't have problems with carpets with high piles or area rugs, but it couldn't remove cat litter or cable tangles and cable tangles, which isn't a surprise considering it doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance.
5. K10 Plus
K10 Plus is one of the most quiet robovacs that we've tested. It also has a unique method to map your home. This allows it to get into places that other vacuums are unable to reach. This device also stores dust in a larger bin which means you need empty it less frequently. Additionally, it has washable filters, which reduces the cost of using the device. The robot can also recognize carpets and boost the suction when needed. You can also mark areas you would like the robot to avoid using the app.
