The best robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and leaves your floors spotless. Its low cost and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detector) are a plus.
Make sure to check your robot's brushes frequently for tangled debris and hair. Wash them when necessary. Certain models also automatically empty the onboard dustbin and deposit it in an additional bin located at the base. This reduces the amount fine dust that is released into the air.
1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've test. They feature top-of-the-line motors that can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. As with other top iRobot models (including the top choice), they use intelligent mapping technology to create detailed floor plans and avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. The robots also have a feature called Carpet Boost that increases its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on floors that were bare, and they are particularly adept in removing dog hair. However, they have some flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. One of the Q5's shortcomings is its navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to become stuck on shoes and socks, and it couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people efficiently during our tests. It also doesn't have a camera to see around corners.
Still, it's very good for those who want to save money on a iRobot Roomba and you have a bare-floored home or office. Additionally, it's quiet and you can use it when you're at work or at school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. And, if you need to change the mopping pad to dry ones in a matter of seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into a sleek, compact package. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and effective at tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also features a self-emptying dustbin as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, though it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.
This high-performing mop and vacuum combo utilizes advanced sensors to dodge obstacles and pet waste and it learns your home's layout over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. You can alter its cleaning schedule and set up zones through the well-designed app. It has a battery life that is similar to other models.
When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to remove and extend its mops. This will help prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is perfect for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
In the course of testing, X30 Ultra was the most efficient Robot Vacuum Uk vacuum/mop which could complete the task of cleaning a whole home with just 66 percent of its battery remaining. It did a good cleaning job on a variety of floors and rooms with different flooring types including certain area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top-notch and it was nimbly avoiding fake dog turds, socks, shoes and cables.
It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is something we haven't seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
3. iRobot Roomba X40
With a sleek circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba than the competition's boxy units this robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most attractive designs in our evaluations. The newest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).
It's the only robotic mop or vacuum to score a perfect 10 in our evaluations due to a mix of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can completely self-refill and empty its base station and boasts an its own self-cleaning mop pads.
As with other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, with an easy mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only issue is that it's still quite an eerily noisy device, which can be a problem if you run it in the morning before work or in the evening as you try to fall asleep.
It's also a bit expensive, although it's not as pricey as Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally powerful and better-looking. If you're willing with a little more noise and a little more cost, this is a very capable two-in-one that should please almost everyone.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot mop and vacuum. It has a number of features that are advanced and will make you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes the care of vacuuming and mopping, with a multifunction dock that automatically empty the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank, washes and dries its mop pads.
The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floor plans and detect obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its competitors with premium features. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards but this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and was sometimes confused with power cords or obstructions.
The vacuum cleaner has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to do the job. It also has an attribute known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas in the house based on how dirty these areas tend to be.
If you have a bigger home, you should consider selecting a robot that comes with zones or spot cleaning modes. This allows you to inform the robot hoover and mop of which area of your home needs to be cleaned using the app or voice command. A stairway mode is useful if you own a number of furniture. For families that are busy recharge functions and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to pick up where it left off could be very beneficial.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is more advanced than the price suggests. It vacuums well and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with one pad that has a reciprocating motion, which is cleaner than the other best robot hoover mop cleaners we've tried. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured app and an auto-emptying washable base.
The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate the mapping process which collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to make cleaning schedules, arrange the perfect spot for cleaning or sort out your rooms with the most dirt to ensure better performance. The app comes with a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, which means it can get to corners and under furniture more easily. It also has a powerful suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for pet hair. It also has the ability to create a spot-clean that scours a specific area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's more appealing, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras resemble cute eyes. It is capable of vacuuming, but is more prone to be caught by low thresholds and is noisier than the other top best robot vacuum cleaner and mop vacuums we've tested. It also has a less intuitive app and a small base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.
